If you want to hook your ti92 to the cables dirrectly you would need a
lot of extra hardware. First of when the telephone rings you get rellay
high voltages (like 150 v), which is not got for you link port. Besides
that you would need something to call the number you want.


YOu would also need a modulator/demodulator to convert the signals, so 
the ti92 could understand what i got back and, and so it could send
signals
in hte rigth format.


So bassically you do need a modem.
