While it's true that you wouldn't need to implementy 100% of the CRT, or 
even have compatible function calls, you'd still need a wrapper to call the 
ROM functions.  At the very least you'd need a function that could grab 
parameters off the stack and put them into the right registers before 
calling the ROM function.  This overhead would be minimal, but it would be 
necesary.  For example, a puts(char *s) would need to pull the pointer off 
of the stack, store it in HL, and then bcall PutS, but that is about all.
