AIt is made blue by sending a lot of voltage across one line of the
display.  Nptice that the barriers between cells n the display are missing
in BLOD mode.The fadeout is the process of voltage draining from the LCD.
The M3's might have packed enough amperage to heat the display up all the
way while still powering the chip.  It might also be noted that BLOD might
be bad for batteries if you do it a lot (so have a school calc handy to
grab new batteries)
