A83: Infrared and Radio Frequency Links

Last month the 86 list was talking about making these wireless links. I think
an IR link allows you to communicate with more than 2 calcs pretty easily and
use your calc as a remote control. An RF link can go through walls and can
communicate over a much larger distance, but it is much harder to connect more
than 2 calcs - you'd have to sort out the frequencies somehow... They were
talking about transmitting a RF over a few miles and communicating directly
with computers... But before that Tim Adkisson has already made a simple RF
link that transmits about 100ft. You cut your calc-calc link cable in half,
connect some power and a transceiver from Radio Shack and you've got it
working.
Does anyone here know about building either an RF or an IR link, or where I
can find more info about it? I've already noticed there's a dearth of
programs made specifically for this type of stuff for the 83 - I know it acts
like a regular cable, I mean specialized programs.

...Also, I've been working on those BASIC-ASM programs that we were talking
about earlier. Who's making what? I've made some simple things so far - Run
indicator on and off, inverse on and off, and a getkey that pauses and stores
into Ans.
