A83: Newbie help

Where do I find a good beginners reference for ASM programming for my TI-83?  Is there legible well-documented code out there?  Also, I'd like to know opinions about which ASM editor/compiler is the best.  I would prefere an editor/compiler that could handle both my TI-83 and my TI-89.  I know that niether one uses the same chip or OS as the other, but doesn't TI make an editor/compiler for their calcs?  Thanks for any help/advice/leads in advance.  =)
