How is using descriptive lables "dumb"?  If you release your source code,
you aren't worried about people figuring out how it works.  It would be easy
enough to figure it out just by looking for self modifying code, anyway.
And if the source code isn't released, make a copy of the file before
sending it to the calc.  Then set a high score and send it back.  Use
something like the DOS "FC" command to see where they are different, and
that should be where the highscore is located at.  Or use your hex editor
and search for the initials.
