I've had that happen once.  But my calc teacher took my calc away and
dropped the batteries on the floor.  I got SOS back from someone else, and
it hasn't done it again...

This happens all of the time after I am in SOS for a while.  What I find
works is going to 2nd MEM RESET DEFAULTS.  This clears the screen and it's
trash.

Never happened to me...
