Sorry -- I didn't intend to reply to the entire group.  On a more 
useful note..  I'm working on a project for a group of my students. 
We're putting together a low-$ interface to allow control of stepping 
motors etc. via ASM through the link port without the need of a PC or 
TI cable. If others are interrested, we would be happy to share code 
and schematics.
