To: nickd@nickd.org MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="0-1649760492-957822436=:11454" Status: Adding more memory to your ti89 FOR FREE By: Kevin McCollum update: 5 / 8 / 2000 ======================================================================================= Requirements: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - A TI89 with AMS version 1.0, 1.05 or 2.03. Hardware version does not matter. ======================================================================================= Recomended: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - AU 3.0 (for AMS version 1.0 and 1.05 calculators only.) [Editor's note: AU v3.0 can be found at http://www.ticalc.org/pub/89/asm/programs/au.zip] ======================================================================================= ABOUT: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - By following these steps exactly, you will add over 65K of memory to your TI-89's archiveable memory. ======================================================================================= WARNING: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This will not work on the windows program Virtual TI. I have tried and failed every time. This will work on the calculators themselves, however. This will also NOT work on AMS version 2.03 for both HW versions. I am not possitive that this will even work on HW2 for AMS 1.0 or HW1 & 2 for AMS 1.05. It should work though. If you do not follow these steps exactly this may harm your calculator. I will not be responsible for what happens. Please email me though if anything does not work right. I also do not know if this will work in addition on maxmem or moremem. Or if this is what moremem does. ======================================================================================= THE STEPS: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | KEY | - with AU 3.0 - | + -> then hit | ----------------- * ON + alpha + ON + 4 + Y "wait" + F5 + diamond + APPS + alpha + 3(s) + 1 "wait until 2 DATA codes appear" + ON + 2nd + ESC "wait 2 seconds" + 2 + ON + 2nd + 6 - The last to keys will bring you to the memory screen so you can see the addition in memory. - without AU 3.0 - * ON + 2nd + 6 + F1 + 1 + F5 + diamond + APPS + alpha + 3(s) + 1 "wait until 2 DATA codes appear" + ON + 2nd + ESC "wait 2 seconds" + 2 + ON + 2nd + 6 - The last to keys will bring you to the memory screen so you can see the addition in memory. ======================================================================================= THE STEPS KEY BY KEY & DISCRIPION: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - with AU 3.0 - ON -> this will turn on your calculator alpha -> this is the 1st step in acessing the AU screen ON -> this will pop up the AU screen 4 -> this will erase all memory on your calc. Archived or Not Y -> this will conferm it and then bring you to the home screen F5 -> this is the 1st step in getting to the self diag test fot the 89. it brings you to the PrgmIO screen diamond -> just the next key press needed to get to the self diag screen APPS -> Pops up copyright information. alpha -> key needed to press so you can hit S 3 -> also known as the S key. this will get you to the self diag screen. 1 -> Does a flash Test of your calculator. you will have to wait a couple of seconds for it to pop up some numbers and letters. ON -> 1st step in exiting the flash test screen 2nd -> 2nd step in exiting the flash test screen. Give you access to QUIT ESC -> is also known as the Quit key. This will bring you back to the self diag screen. 2 -> Will do a RAM test on your calculator. A bunch of lines will be flashing. ON -> Will reset your calc with the new memory added 2nd -> 1st step in getting to the memory screen. 6 -> you will see a memory screen now, to see all that new memory on your 1.0 or 1.05 calc. :) - with out AU 3.0 - just do the same thing as above only skip the 1st 5 key presses. Start at F5. ======================================================================================= FOR VERSON 2.03 CALCs: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For those of you that have version 2.03 calculators. All I have been able to do is bring up the Self Diag screen. I have been unsuccessful in adding more memory. The Keys you need to enter this screen are here below: F5 + diamond + clear + alpha + 3(s) That is all I can help you with at this moment. ======================================================================================= CONTACT: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- URL - http://kevin.bapg.net Email - kevin@bapg.net AIM - mccollum99 ICQ - 22604531 Yahoo - kevmccollum ======================================================================================= THANKS TO: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - (PA) Programmers Anonymous - http://pa.ticalc.org - (BAPG) Basic & ASM Programmers Group - http://www.bapg.net - the ticalc.org project - http://www.ticalc.org - Texas Instruments ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
