People with slow connections are the ones that would notice because of the HTML compression

I have a cable modem and I noticed a major difference. I can't believe people aren't finding ticalc.org faster now.

Yea me too. Starting about like a month ago it was getting so slow. Like dialup speed to load this site. Now it's much better.

Actually, most colleges either use an OC3 or T1 line. T3 tends to be restricted to government organizations - in the US, at least. I'm not sure about other countries.

My university (where I work) has gigabit. See web page URL above for an article in English about GigaSunet performance.

The network is built with 10 Gbit/sec DWDM connections in a redundant infrastructure, connectiong points of presence in 22 cities, nationwide, using reduandant 2.5 Gbit/sec connections as access towards the universities.

I do connect through T3 as well, but I couldn't notice such a huge difference. File downloads are still slow.

I used to have a dial-up connection, but then, I'm not sure anymore.

Hmmm. Still 23 seconds for Google. I guess your server is working.

Your new server is way faster on my 33.6k(modem) connection, although for some reason, when I access your site at school it appears to load slower???
My schools connection is 8mbit ADSL with 10mbit LAN switches, so it should run faster, then again, it could have been because of network lag or the fact that the servers for the network are probably equally matched to your old server. :P
