the File iconhelp.92t is a help file that will answer most questions about icons, the icon-add system and the insert files, icon set switching using an icon, and much more. if you use Icons in a teaching environment or pass it around via Calc2Calc, it is recommended that you include this file to help the new user get used to the icons interface. if you are reading this, the same file is below the installation procedure section of this readme

the File Lines.92p is a screen saver for icons

the file folder.92i is an icon for icons. use it as a model for other icons.

the file iconedit.92g is the Icon editor for Icons. if you want to install it, send the program to your Ti-92 and run the Icon-add system to install the program into the Graphical user interface

Icons Program Management System Version 6.3.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE:

WARNING Icons 5.2 and above must be installed in the Main directory for the program to work correctly. This had to be done in order to keep other programs from corrupting icons when they change folders. Previous Icons programs could run programs in other folders, but if execution stopped and the folder was not changed back to main, system corruption would occur. Icons 5.2 corrected this error by forcibly changing to the main folder. If you try to move Icons to another folder, Corruption May occur and the system files would appear in the main folder anyway. I know some users might not like this feature, but it was unavoidable and was the only way of fixing the problem without adding a lot more code to the system.

If you are upgrading from Icons 5.0 and Above:

  1. Ungroup the file icons.92g
  2. send the file icons.92p to your calculator
  3. run the GUI to make sure that it is working properly

if you are upgrading from icons 4.1 and Below:

NOTE: Icons Ver. 5.4 is incompatible with any icon sets from icons 4.1 and earlier. to make them compatible:

  1. open the icon sets in the data/matrix editor.
  2. move the cursor to r1c1.
  3. hit f6, select delete, then select column.
  4. repeat #2 and #3 once more
  5. exit the data/matrix editor

If the above doesn't work, you will have to redo your icon sets.

Note: the new icon sets should be 4 columns and filled rows should only have a number in the 4th column. ex. row in an iconset: ["folder","icons","icons()",0]

once you done that, You can upgrade icons.

  1. Delete the file Hglass on your calculator. you don't need it anymore
  2. Ungroup the file icons.92g
  3. send the file icons.92p to your calculator
  4. run the GUI to make sure that it is working properly

NOTE: if the previous icon sets were not made compatible, or not redone correctly, Errors will occur!

If Icons is currently not on your Ti-92:

  1. send the file icons.92g to your calculator
  2. run the GUI to make sure it is working properly.

Wait until it scans the Icon and start drawing when the Crosshairs appears on the screen. Notice that there are two views, a regular view in the upper left hand corner of the screen, and a full blown view where you draw. Press enter the draw or erase. Press Esc to either Quit without saving or save the picture in the desired format and Exit the Icon Editor. You must draw something or the save function will not work. also if the name was invalid, a box will come up asking you to change it. Also remember that the icon editor will overwrite anything that has the same name as the name you typed in the name box.

the icon editor automatically sizes the picture for best memory savings. The largest icon that can be made in the editor is 16x16.
