Fortres XP Manual

Introduction:

Fortres XP is a Security program that protects basic programs so that any one you don't want to run that program can't unless they have an account you create for them. This program is secure to an extent because the passwords are not encrypted. Encrypted passwords comeing soon.

Installation

To Install Fortres XP follow the instructions below.

  1. Use TI-Graph Link to Send fortxp.fortxpc and fortxp.fortxps to your Calculator.

First Start

Follow the instructions below to start Fortres for the First time.

  1. Run Program fortxp\fortxps()
  2. Set you Administrator Password

    Note: Do Not Lose your Administrator Password or you will half to delete the entire User Name Database to get back in as Administrator unless you have a User Name with Admin Access Rights.

  3. Login as Administrator

Note: Your Password is typed out for you. COPY IT DOWN IN A SAFE PLACE! It is Recomended that you create at least one User Name with User Access Rights so that other people can use the protected programs without being able to mess things up.

Log Out

To log out follow the instructions below.

  1. Press [F1]
  2. Press [1]

Enable/Disable Security

To Enable or Disable Security follow the instructions below.

Note: You can not Disable or Enable the Security if you are Loged In as a User. But any user with Admin Access Rights can Enable or Disable Security.

  1. Press [F1]
  2. Press [2]
  3. Change the Drop Down Menu to Disable to Disable Security or to Enable to Enable Security

About

The About Screen shows the program name and copyright and the TI-OS Version and Product ID # of your calculator. To bring up the About Screen follow the instructions below.

  1. Press [F1]
  2. Press [3] (If Loged In as an Administrator)
  3. Press [2] (If Loged In as a User)

Add User

To add a user follow the instructions below.

Note: You can only Add a User if you are loged in as an Administrator. But any user with Admin Access Rights can Add Users.

  1. Press [F2]
  2. Press [1]
  3. Type the User Name in the Filled labled User Name
  4. Type the desired Password in the Filled labled Password
  5. Select the Access Rights of this user from the Drop Down Menu labled Access Rights. (Admin gives you full access rights to add and delete users)

Delete User

To Delete a User follow the instructions below.

Note: You can only Delete a User if you are loged in as an Administrator. But any user with Admin Access Rights can Delete Users.

  1. Press [F2]
  2. Press [2]
  3. Select the user to be delete in the Drop Down Menu labled User Name
  4. Select Continue in the Drop Down Menu labled Options

Delete All Users

To Delete All Users in the user database follow the instructions below.

Note: You can only Delete All Users if you are loged in as an Administrator. But any user with Admin Access Rights can Delete All Users.

  1. Press [F2]
  2. Press [3]
  3. Select Yes from the Drop Down Menu

Change Password

To Change Password follow the instructions below

Note: This demenstrates how to Change the Password with Admin Access Rights Only (You can Change any Password of any User). Click Here to learn how to Change the Password with User Access Rights.

  1. Press [F2]
  2. Press [4]
  3. Select the User to Change the Password for in the Drop Down Menu labled User Name
  4. Type the new Password in the box labled New Password

Access Rights

To change the Access Rights of a User follow the instructions below.

Note: You can only Change Access Rights of a User if you are loged in as an Administrator. But any user with Admin Access Rights can Change Access Rights. You can not Change the Access Rights of the User Administrator.

  1. Press [F2]
  2. Press [5]
  3. In the Drop Down Menu labled User Name select the User Name to Change Access Rights to.

Number of Users

To view the Number of Users are in the user database follow the instructions below.

Note: You can view the Number of Users that are in the database with a Logon Name with User Access Rights (See Video Below).

  1. Press [F3]
  2. Press [1]

  1. Just Press [F3]

Listing of User Names

Listing of User Names gives you a Drop Down Menu with all of the users in the User Database. When you select one you can see what there access rights are. To bring up the Listing of User Names follow the instructions below.

Note: You can only get a Listing of User Names if you are loged in as an Administrator. But any user with Admin Access Rights can get a Listing of User Names.

  1. Press [F3]
  2. Press [2]

Change Password (as User)

To Change a Password with a User Name with User Access Rights follow the instructions below.

Note: This is for User Names wth User Access Rights Only.

  1. Press [F2]
  2. Press [1]
  3. Type the New Password in the Dialog Box.

How to Protect a Program

To Protect a Program follow the instructions below.

  1. At the Home Screen Press [Apps]
  2. Press [7]
  3. Press [2]
  4. Open the Program that you want to Protect
  5. Make the very first line of the program be fortxp\fortxpc()
