This program solves three dimensional statics (equilibrium) problems. This update allows the solution of more complex structures, such as trusses, by enabling its application to components of a structure as well as to the structure as a whole. Most commonly, the program would be used for the whole structure first to determine any external forces or couples, then to find forces in members or forces acting at a joint. Each force and the position vector of its point of application, as well as any couples, are entered. Vectors can be entered in rectangular coordinates, or as a given magnitude along a line between two specified points. If there more unknowns than equations, you will be prompted to choose a component, which could be a single member, a section, or a joint, involving some of the same unknowns so more equations are generated, perhaps allowing solution. Solutions are found by means of the TI Simultaneous Equation Solver. Vector magnitudes or vector components can be solved for, but not angles. Angular unknowns can usually be avoided by using components or by specifying direction along the line between two given points. Solutions are saved and copied to the home screen for use in further calculations. Several examples are included.

For a 3d case, the values of any 10 of the 16 quantities { xo, yo, zo, vox, voy, voz, ax, ay, az, x, y, z, vx, vy, vz, t } must be entered, then the program solves for the remaining 6 unknown quantities from the list. Either position, velocity, or acceleration can be entered as a function of time for each of the 3 dimensions. In time dependent cases, the values of the unknowns as well as expressions for them as functions of time are given. Several examples are included.

This is a generalization of my program, Projctle(), to include acceleration due to forces other than gravity. For example, it can be used for a charged particle moving in a uniform electric field. The values of any 7 of the 11 quantities, {components of acceleration, initial position coordinates, initial speed and direction, final position coordinates, final speed and direction, and time} must be entered, then the program solves for the remaining 4 unknown quantities. Several examples are included.

This name stands for “Load Flow using Gauss-Seidel Method”; it’s written in a TI-89 Titanium. The formulas used in it are based on this book: “Power System Analysis by Hadi Saadat”, The program is not written for just giving the final answer, it solves the problem step by step and is specially useful in tests because most of the time you are supposed to solve the problem only for a few steps and write down the procedure, however you can use it for reaching a final answer just by a few changes but when there are programs like POWERWORLD or DIgSILENT I think it won’t be needed. Only those who have solved load flow problem with at least 3 bus and 4 iterations will understand how much useful this program can be however it is still very helpful for smaller networks. There is also a subprogram which calculates the Ybus matrix. The Ybus calculated after running this program can be used in other programs that I have written like Lfnewton or Lffdcpld. By inversing this matrix you calculate Zbus which is helpful especially when you are going to solve a short circuit problem. Required slack bus power, transferred power between buses, power loss on lines, current flowing through the lines and some other parameters of system are calculated too.

TI89NIST installs over 70 of the NIST physical constants on your TI-89, all with std. and rel. std. uncertainties, and appropriate units (over 200 variables in all). It includes universal, E-M, atomic, particle, physico-chemical and adopted values. 'viewcons' is a nifty, optional, menu-driven application which allows the user to find the variable name for a constant, given its description or standard symbol.

This program analyzes projectile motion in a resistive medium (R=-bv). The program solves most types of projectile motion problems. Choose from 3 different systems of units. The values of any 3 of the 4 quantities {vo, qo, x, y} must be entered, as well as a resistance parameter, then the program solves for the remaining unknown quantities from the list {vo, qo, x, y, t, v, vx, vy, q} . The solutions are copied to the home screen. The path of the projectile and the path in vacuum are graphed for comparison. After exiting the program, the graphs can be examined and input values can be changed.

This is a physics solver, suitable for any AP or non physics class. It will be updated as I continue through the course, but as of now is capable of kinematics, f=ma, circular motion, and gravitational attraction. The program has been pretty well tested, but if you find a flaw, let me know about it. My email is swailsey2004@msn.com. I hope this program comes in handy, but a tip is to use it to check your answers rather than become dependant on it as a source of them. (and I take no responsibility for any problems that this may have, although with such simple syntax I don't see that happening, but just to be safe)

This program plots data points then gives you a choice of regression types to fit a curve to the data. This update changes the method of data input and improves the editing process. x,y coordinates of points may be entered one at a time or an existing 2 column matrix can be entered. Datafit() includes all regression types on the TI-89 as well as a polynomial regression program, Polyfitn(), which allows you to choose the degree of the polynomial. It's easy to try various regression types and see the results quickly. Even if you don't need to fit a curve to the data, it's a quick way to plot data.
