Final Fantasy Magic's End will hopefully be a version 1.0 soon, but no one is emailing me what they think of it. I have the magic implemented, so when someone will play the game and tell me what you think, then I will continue with finishing the enemies...

Also looking for Beta testers!!

I have released 3 games in BASIC and they're all on calcgames.org! Gloppy 1 already has over 400 downloads! Megatron has over 200, and Box (Megatron's sequel) is new. Also, I have finished the Gloppy 2 demo! watch for it at calcgames.org!

The easiest way to get my games would be by way of my homepage (in the URL). Oh and Gloppy 2 DEMO???!!! I'm finishing up the final version! I added a time feature quite by accident. Watch for Gloppy 2

Gloppy 2 coming March 11 and Never mind
Wasoe13

Gloppy 3 will be called Gloppy's boat so never mind. Gloppy 4 will be called Gloppy's gun.
Gloppy 2 will be released on this site and calcgames.org March 11. Also, the tips n' tricks section of my website is up. Could someone also help me with gloppy's jumping for Gloppy's boat? I'd really appreciate it.

Wasoe, I am planning on emailing you, but you might read this first. I want to help you make a sidescroller, and I can help you with speed, jumping, scrolling and other stuff. If you want to see a good example of fast jumping, look up Power Pixel, a program I made.

Another Question
dabud15

So, the S.E. is capable of archiving/unarchiving progrmas but the TI-83+ is not?

They both are! My SE on newest OS 1.15 can, and my 83+ on original OS 1.13 can! That's what they're saying.

Your right, since the ti-83 plus and ti-83 plus se contains the same OS, they contain the same command/syntax. Any ti-83 plus and ti-83 plus se above 1.12 supports this command. (1.13-1.15 did little for programmers)

     8 March 2003, 22:48 GMT

Are you SURE???? It don't work for me!!
dabud15

Okay, I JUST tried to do it on my Version 1.13 83+ but it didn't work.

PROGRAM:B
:Archive prgmC
:Unarchive prgmC
:prgmC

PROGRAM:C
:Disp "ABCDEFGH

I then on the home screen enter the following
prgmB (I then press [ENTER] to execute it)

And I get

ERR: INVALID
1:Quit
2:Goto

What did I do wrong? I think you two are making the whole thing up :)
But that would be AWESOME if I could get it to work.
BTW, I used the Archive and Unarchive commands from the [CATALOG] which is the [2nd] above the [0]. Could that have an affect? I wouldn't think so.

I AM ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow... I'm alive... I think I've been for awhile or something... at least that's what somebody *COUGH*dabud15*COUGH* kept saying about me. *cry*
Anyway, in answer to your Oh-So-Easy Question above, no, it doesn't work for anybody. Any person who tells you that this:
:Archive prgmZPROG1
won't give you an invalid error is either drunk, high, insane, or all three, or just two, or just the other two... Never mind.
However, there is a way to arc/unarc a prog from within another prog. There are two programs, Flash Gordon and ZFlash, that do this. I've never really used them, but I know they exist. And yes, they are assembly programs.

P.S.
Thnx for clearing that up. I hate liars...especialy when it comes to getting my hopes up about making the best RPG in the (calc) world in BASIC even more betterester. I'm too lazy to bhit [BACKSPACE] to fix that error. oh well.

ummm i have no idea what you guys are talking about but i archieve and unarchieve programs all the time(well i try not to but i find no other choice). Either you tried archieving the program from within itself or the program you are trying to archieve is already archieved or if you are trying to unarchieve, it is already archieved.

BY THE WAY, FOR FUTURE REFERENCE THE COMMAND, ARCHIEVE AND UNARCHIEVE CAN BE FOUND BY PRESSING [2nd] [+] (archieve) or (unarchieve) LIKE I SAID EARLIER IF YOU WAS LISTENING(well reading). THE COMMAND WILL BE WRITTEN INTO YOUR PROGRAM IF YOU ARE IN EDIT MODE!!!!!!!!!!

READ THE PARAGRAPH ON TOP OF THIS IF YOU HAVE NOT

P.S. If you have not found the command yet, then you should explore your calculator MUCH more in edit mode. There are MANY useful commands not listed in the norma prgm list.

EX. ClearEntries,ZoomStandard, finiance variables, etc. (you may leave out of edit mode while exploring some stuff like graph mode and Y=list)
(don't forget that [2nd] menus are different than normal menus)

(In edit mode)
archieve= [2nd] [+] [5]
unarchieve= [2nd] [+] [6]

(program must already be created unless done in computer)
select progam= [prgm][<-](then select program)

     11 March 2003, 20:51 GMT

What?
silent_fury  Account Info

You MUST be joking. Nobody has ever been able to do that; thus the reason for creating ZFlash and Flash Gordon. Either you have a secret experimental version of the 83+ and you don't know it, or your still making up stuff. Which is it???

Re: What?

Geez, you people don't know much about the calc do you? I explored the calc extenisively and THAT COMMANDS CAN BE FOUND by pressing 2nd + (to mem) in edit mode (do not slect any other options besides archieve and unarchieve!) and select one of the two commands!

I don't know, maybe my calculator has some kinda special feature(my calc seems to screw up assembly games more than other people) but i doubt it since it is such a simple command and even IT CAN BE FOUND USING TI-83 GRAPH LINK with it's list of commands!
I also have found it being used in numerous basic programs including pokeman (basic).

and ti-83 graph link can be gotten at the ti website! (it's mainly used for linking but you can use it to create programs since it contains all the commands!!!!!!!!!!!, much easier to create with to than the regular calculator)

WHY DON'T you guys ever explore the calc like i do.

If it's because of you have a life, well, where can i get one :-)

If you don't believe me, download the ti-83 graph link and press 2nd + (mem) to see the commands you can place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO DOWNLOAD IT IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME!!!!!! I don't care anymore, i barely use the command anyway since i am too lazy to make a program that needs that much memory.

Re: Re: What?

Ok, Ace, I will spell it out. You may have been confusing the other people, but here is what works and doesn't work.
1. What will not work:
A. Archiving\UnArchiving a PROGRAM (Not picture or list, PROGRAM) from WITHIN a Basic program.

You CANNOT go
:Unarchive prgm1
or
:Archive prgm1
Remember, this is INSIDE the code of a Basic PROGRAM. This is not on the home screen.

But, this does work:
(On the home screen of the calc, the one where you do math and stuff)
Archive prgm1
and
Unarchive prgm1

So, e-mail me with questions. Lets end this topic here.

I think I know what's messed up. Maybe with the Silver Edition they changed that. It will not work on a normal TI 83 Plus. Maybe on a silver edition it does, but one mine it WILL NOT WORK.

Re: Are you SURE???? It don't work for me!!

here's an example of what it should look like in my view.(program(name=test)ALREADY ARCHIEVED)

program astart
:unarchieve prgmtest
:prgmtest
:archieve prgmtest

program test
:disp "my first","archieved","program
:pause
:return

This is a simple example and it can get very messy since YOU WILL GET AN ERROR if you try to archieve an already archieved program or unarchieve an already unarchieved program.

Re: Re: Are you SURE???? It don't work for me!!
Gerhalt Account Info

Ace, I know you think it will work... but trust me, you cannot archive/unarchive programs using a BASIC program. Until someone (Or a group) adds a command to let BASIC programmers do that, it will not work. I garantee you. In your example you used the Archive\UnArchive commands from the catalog, correct? Those will not work. TI specifically designed it so it wouldn't. It gives BASIC programs the potential to, well, not screw up (Which is practically impossible by the way), but at least delete ram. So, to close this post, IT WILL NOT WORK!!!

Gerhalt

P.S. That's why you need to learn Assembly. It is a ton of fun, and I am working on releasing my first ASM program. Anyway, cya people!

Hey i'm some backwards punk, do you guys even read some of the specs of the calc. bet you don't. I spent alot of time researching the calc and exploring it. Bet you don't even know the command for games to use the full speed of the ti-83 plus se in assembly.

I don't even bother with catagory. I get the command in edit mode by pressing (like i said before) [2nd] [+] [5 or 6]. I give up on this. In fact i give up on the ticalc community. If you guys don't apreciate my knowledge, then oh well. See ya guys forever :-) (I rather be learning asm anyway)

By the way Ace, I do know ASM. Lol, I have experimented with practically every command on the calc. Including messing my calc up by changing all the system flags. And no, I am not saying I know ASM to impress you. I honestly do. My skills are still a bit shaky, but I can display sprites, do text, lotsa stuff like that. I am working on a Monster Trainer game similar to Pokemon for GameBoy. Also, I hate Pokeman, but the GameBoy game is cool and I like Monster Training Games (Such as Dragon Warrior Monsters). Anyway, gotta go. Also ace, e-mail me if you want to. I can explain it to you. Gotta go!

Hmmm... Just a thought, but talking about whether the TI 83 Plus\S.E. seems a bit off topic for "Upcoming TI 83 Plus" games. Oh well, maybe it's just me but I thought we are supposed to be talking about new games we are making, and asking for tips and help. Oh well, maybe it fits under tips!
