Ok, I am still working on my rpg, which i mentioned on page 25. Anyway, I am having a hard time figuring out a map creator program that loads fast, looks good, and you can move around fairly fast on. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be grateful.

Gerhalt

P.S. E-mail me at tgrmtn@Nocharge.com. Also, if I use what you sent in I will put you in the credits.

Re: Upcoming TI-83 Plus Games

I am currently working on a turned based strategy. It will have two sides, the humans and the beasts. It already has peasants, knights, artilary, archers, and calvery for the humans. And Grunts, fiends, skeletons, vampires, and wyverns (a mythical creature simular to a dragon) for the beasts. The peasants and grunts must gather gold from the randomly placed mines. They also are used to build lumber yards and iron mills. The lumber yards must be placed next to trees and the iron mills must be placed next to the randomly placed rocks. All of the buildings and units cost resources of course. Money (gold), lumber, and iron. The lumber is made from the lumber yards and the iron is produced in the iron mills (duh!). It is being made in TI-83+ BASIC. So far I have all of the player 1 controls and movement programmed. And am working on player 2's controlls. I hope to add a working AI which once I have the game maded wont be too hard. And if you are stuck and not sure what you want to do, then you will just have to hit a button and the AI will do your turn for you! I also hope to add in a level maker. By the way, if you are a BASIC programmer and are wondering how I made it so that there is virtualy no limit on how many of a certain unit your can build just E-mail me. PS. the vampires will of course absorbe 15% of the enemies health.

I'm afraid not. I started to but the game took over 20,000 bytes when I tried to program player 2's controls. I didn't plan it too well. OOPS! But now I am working on a HUGE RPG which I already have about 2 months in the planning alone. Still not anywhere near done! I already know how to fix the "Not enough RAM" problem everyone keeps having. Reply to this for more info later.

I am myself a basic programmer who has programmed on-calc (before buying a graph-link) a 22Kb, non-graphical RPG with a good combat system and storyline that i plan to release once it is translated (originally in french). I am interested in the help you can give me (and other programmers facing the same problems) on RAM allocation and multiple unit management (I also programmed a 18k two-player turn-based strategy game with 3 unique races and a many units/buildings).

Thanks for your devotion

Hey, that post above mine made me think about something, and now I'm working on (Besides my RPG) a game like Shining Force: The Sword of Hayja, Shining Force I, and Shining Force II. If anyone has ever played that (It is an old game made for Sega Game Gear and Sega Genesis) and would like to co-author it with me e-mail me.

no one will probably ever see this, but if you want the best game since Drugwars on the ti83+ ,and soon for the 83, check out Streetracer. The game is a graphical, not text based, racing game. It isn't one of those crappy tunnel games either. The game features several popular cars, Nos, a save feature, and is lots of fun. Get the FULL version, not the demo available on this site. There is only one catch, Streetracer is only available on the Nexus Programs website,nexus.tigalaxy.com, no where else. Get it NOW!!!!

Yeah sounds great, but like the last comment said, what about memory? I program a lot and have little memory left. Try and make it small, and it would be so cool.

This is going to be the COOLEST RPG for the TI-83 Plus
dabud15

I am curently working on an RPG with traits of Final Fantasy VII, The Elder Scrolls III:Morrowind, Baulder's Gate, and Dungeons and Dragons. I am still working on the battle program, but I'll worry about that. Right now It has 23 regular weapons, 7 magical weapons, 10 kinds of armor (and that's not including the helmets, bracers, greaves, and boots), rings, necklaces, 27 different types of enemies (some with multiple spells), 36 spells in all (might add more later), 3 schools of magic, 5 elemental types, 5 races including a vampire (for when you have to make your own character), 6 classes for you to pick from, including Knight, Fighter, Rouge, Mage, Battlemage, and Cleric, 5 statistics (including Strength, Intelligance, Willpower, Luck, and Speed), and a VERY interesting invintory selection. OH, and it also has paryalization, and frostbite (curable by fire elemental damage, or the spells Free Action and Esuna from Final Fantasy VII).

All of the battles will be done in real time using the ATB (Active Time Battle) System. How fast the bar fills up depends on that characters speed, which is factored on the weight of the armor, speed of weapon, and overall speed of person.

All I need now is a story. If someone who is interested in becoming a writer, or just is very imaginative, could write the story and plot line, that would be EXCELLENT. I would also put your name in as credit. It must be lengthy, creative and have all of the following things built into it.
1.Bosses
2.Only the main character on your side at any time
3.Have plot twists
4.Not a knock-off of something already made
5.Elements (fire, water, ice, earth and electricity)
5.Schools of magic
6.Vampires
7.Loads of magic
8.Dragons
9.Towns
10.Shops
11.Forests
12.And, anything else I can think of

REMEMBER: No one can play this game untill there is a story to it, so HURRY up and write one please!!!!!!!

oops, I forgot to give my email adress for anyone who wants to write the story for my RPG. Remember, all you have to do is send it using word or notepad or something. You don't actually have to program it or know anything about programming for that matter. You just need to write a plot and send it to dabud15@yahoo.com

That sounds awesome, but extremely involved. Good luck, because nobody has ever (to my knowledge) released an RPG as complex as that for TI-83 Plus Basic OR asm. At least, not a completed version. They release a demo and we never hear from them again. Oh well. Btw, basic or asm? If asm then Extra Luck for you...
