Basic DDR
TJ Hampton  Account Info

Yes, I realize you've seen all those other horrible basic DDR games, no scrolling, too easy, incorrect arrow patterns, THIS will fix all that, I've been able to get an arrow to scroll up the screen, speed controllable, very smoothly.. I'm using Omnicalc, and Basic... I've been wanting to do this for quite a while... but I couldn't quite get it to do what I wanted it to do without omni, which I just recently discovered... "THANKS" to another basic DDR game, (which I felt was horrible for many reasons) Hit me up on my e-mail if you want to see what I've got so far (it's an arrow scrolling up the screen, unless you change the programming, you can't change which arrow comes up, and you can't really do much of anything with it.. but it does show very well that you can scroll arrows very well using no more then omni/basic.

Many games to come soon!
aaron barnhart Account Info

School's nearly out and as such I'm slowly getting more and more time to work on some projects and finish them up. There should be four or five more games coming out from me over the month of June. One that should be on the site in a day or two is Mastermind (basicmastermind.zip), in which you must figure out a 5-digit code (very similar to the board game, with only a few changes). Also coming soon are three games that are all related, titled LINEGAME, LINEGME2 and LIMEGME3. LINEGM3 will be a two-player game (currently both players play on the same calc, possible linked version coming later), and beyond that I won't say anything about the line games. Also coming (and I know I've been promising this game for years and it hasn't come out) soon is Armies, a tactical war game where you must build up a giant army and crush your way through four cities. A few other games are in the works, but nothing else coming out soon.

I am also in the process of looking for new game ideas. I am pretty good with BASIC programming, so if you have some ideas for games (make them reasonable, no Diablo or StarCraft requests) let me know about them.

Have a great summer everyone!

New Dance Dance Revolution
Gary Schmidt  Account Info

I am currently making the best Dance Dance Revoulution game for the TI-83 Plus and above calculators in regular old assembly language. It will have awesome graphics, 8 songs in all 3 diffiulties, a nifty groove radar, and the CORRECT arrow order. It will have classics like MaxX Unlimited for all you true DDR lovers. Just click the link above to a DDR fanatic website to see more information including screen shots and a discussion. Post feedback here if you think there should be something added. ^_^

I am currently working on a new Fal down with either three or four speeds, a new Fast Tunnel with same number of speeds, and a new avalanch. So far I am almost done and when I am done all will put them all out on the same day. I am having a little trouble at the moment with a couple of things so the programs should be ready by at most in two weeks but possibly up to four. Got any ideas contact me.

Daggerfall Game/My new game Armies
aaron barnhart  Account Info

You still/done making that game? I'd love to have it. aaronofpaul@hotmail.com is my email. By the way I'm using this as a half and half post to talk about my upcoming game Armies. As far as I know nothing like 09 Armies, this game is not as in depth and takes a totally different turn in the turn based strategy games. In Armies you begin with 100 troops and must engage in many battles with other armies to make your way to the Army of Cragon (KRAY-guhn) and defeat them once and for all. Battling will show you what the word "war" means, as you'll lose half of your army or so in each battle, depending on how good you are. As you go through the game you can hire more troops, encounter random events (people join your army for free, guys die of previous wounds, etc). The game isn't a very big game (currently takes up 1250 blocks but only features 1 enemy army and no map yet). Armies will be coming out within the next month or two (or three).

on the contrary....they will work if you edit them and if they are not shell specific...ususally all you have to do is change one or two things to get them to work...however, this only works if you have the source...

If they ARE shell specific, and that shell happens t be ion (and you have the source), then you don't have much work to do :) Anyways, I'm moving away from programming and on to MirageOS, because that has all the routines of ion plus extra! (And you can use all the stuff in ti83plus.inc).

You do know that Gameboy and the TI-83 plus uses the same processor right? That means that any game that is made on the gameboy can be done on the calc. The only limits are memmory, thats why you dont see a lot of full gameboy games on the calc with the same speed and quality.

There are demo's of both Zelda and Mario but they are demo so they are nothing. For example, the demo for Mario doesn't shoot fireballs. Why would the author release it if it is a DEMO. Anyway, my point is I want a full version of Mario and Zelda

Send the file with the .8XP Suffix to the calculator, NOT the one with the .83P Suffix, also, some files require a shell (Sort of like calculator Windows) to work on the calculator. If this is the problem, then run the shell, NOT the program.

i just started making a zelda game for ti-83plus it isn't however in assembly language. but the graphics are awesome. it actually has pictures not animated letters or numbers. and is strikingly similar to the zelda on gameboy. it takes up about 15,000 bytes but is definatly worth it. if any one has any ideas on how i can end the game (ex. fight-add more detail) then please tell me.

I think that would be cool. Which calc would it be made for though? If it was for the TI-83+ then that would be great! And what kind of game would it be? (Sim, Adventure, Side-scroller,...) Would it be in BASIC or Assembly? Sorry to ask all of these questions but I myself am an expert at BASIC and would be interested to give you tips.

Sorry, but I believe that's an RPG, not an Action RPG. Those are two completely different games. Joltima's a time-based RPG where your three guys fight one to four (I think) other bad guys. Zelda is a game where there are no battle screens that transition from the normal gameplay; you don't wait your turn to fight, you just FIGHT.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Upcoming TI-83 Plus Games

An 83 asm program will not run on an 83+ (unless written for ION). Some changes are involved. First, don't use "tokens.inc" or "ti83asm.inc" or anything equivalent to that. Use "ti83plus.inc", it is available on the TI website. Second, almost every place where there is a "call( _XXXX)" in an 83 program, replace it with a "b_call(_XXXX)". Third, don't use obj83 or devpac 83. Use obj8x or devpac 8x instead. Finally, don't use the .83p ending, use .8xp.

first you click on the file you want and save it to a disk or onto your computer. then you open it START,RUN,BROWSE,A:,FILENAME,ETC. and winzip should break the file down then you use the cd you got with your cable to open the file. i think it is called the ti resource cd. or it might be the other one?

Hello,
I was just looking at the upcoming TI 83 plus games for fun and saw your letter about if anyone wanted you to port or make a game, that you would do it. Well, I don't know how much experience you have with the TI 86 or 89 but I would like to have the Ff7 Cloud's quest game ported from the 89 to the 86. I talked to Fryed Software and they said that they couldn't do it because they don't know any asm, and it is a basic game. Then someone said that it could be ported to basic but without all the animations. It would be better if you could port it to asm, but I don't know how much well you know how to program. You could probably even add to the game if you wanted. I know a lot of other people that would like to have Ff7 on their 86's too. Could you send me an email back and let me know what you think? Also do you know if any other TI 89 games could be ported to the 86. The mario on the 86 is pretty good but some of the animations on the 89 version just look better. Would any of those games be able to be ported?
-Thanks

Hey! I've been wondering something... WHY do everyone ask for games to be sent to their e-mail? There is something called Archive here! Here anyone can upload a game they wrote, so why don't you just whait and download them when they come?

Sorry if I sound rude, but I'm really annoyed.

I don't know if u know how to make phoenix games, but if you could make one, it would be nice to see one with some original ideas indtead of just copying the original one like most people do. Could you put a high score list with three or two people instead of just showing the highest score for Fall Down.
And another thing, could you make Fall Down with some lives and bonus kind of things. I don't want the game to be over quickly and it can be more entertaining, but still it's an excellent game.

Hey man, yes.. RPG's are ownage. Please make more. Have you ever played Dragon Warrior for NES? Or Joltima recently added to the Ti-83 Plus ASM list. My ideas are to make good RPG with money sell/buying features and equipment with showing the damage or armor class the item gives. Maybe put a info button on to tell what it does. I like games that tell me what the item does so I don't use items that do weird stuff and kill all my guys :P, I don't know what else to add. If you need more information on the topic email me at RedFyre1@hotmail.com, I'd be glad to answer your questions. Thank-You

get rid of programs A and (theta)ion. Then run program ion (no Asm( syntax). It will create A and (theta)ion. If this dosn't work, a is just Asm((theta)Ion)...

Hello,

This is a simple answer for you, not being rude. In the zip file which you download from where you downloaded, it shows files. Only extract 8XP files. The reason for this that it won't work for you is because the other one is for the regular Ti-83.

Thank-You
