i am looking for a racing game in TI-83 BASIC that takes up very little space. i dunno where to put requests, so i put it here. The racing games i am talking about are those that have like a V or any letter for the car, and then you go between the walls which are a different letter. these games are very easy to find but i cant find one that takes up very little memory and works perfect. thanks for your time.

i cant open it with the TI-GRAPH LINK (83) thing on my computer because it is a TI-83 PLUS program and not a TI-83 Program. i put it in my calc by hand so it needs to be a TI-83 program so i can open it.

If you go to my website (URL above) you can find a link to my program name Daytona, it's pretty small (2k), has a few cool options, no flaws, and looks just like you described.

Hi!
If you want a good (but somewhat dificult) racing game where the sides start huge and then become small, a good one is Josh Lawrence's Need For Speed.
It's 1698 bytes (1.698kb) and named jlnfs on the webpage shown above. (At least I think the URL is shown above this.)

If you want a good well rounded racing game where the sides stay the same size and you can have your own car (you input the symbol) and bariers (ditto), Ben Ilegbodu's Ace Racer is also very good. It's 4024 bytes (4.024kb) and named aceracer on that same page.
Game on!

Sequel to my Bomber game.

I've been thinking about making Bomber 2, the sequel to one my older games that I like a lot. Please click the URL above this post and check out the first Bomber, it's a really good two player strategy game, or one player with the AI I made. I've been thinking that Bomber 2 would be very similar to Bomber, but be almost completely graphical, where Bomber was almost completely text. There would be a lot more options, like customizing your players abilities (with restrictions of course), starting anywhere in the arena you want (so the opponent won't know where you start), making the arena a little bigger or maybe letting you choose between a big arena or the traditional, having two bases so you don't have to go ALL the way back to your base to win. I would also like to make a better AI (eventually) so you could play one player and have it be challenging. Lastly, I would like to try to make it a smaller file than the previous version... key word "try", it won't be easy if even possible! Anyways, I'd love to hear opinions on this, so please download Bomber from the URL above, play it for a little, and tell me what you think about what I've said here. I would prefer that you email me about this, but I will check the posts here too. Thanks for your help in advance, I love Bomber, and I think this Bomber 2 would be a great game.

Many of you may already know that I am releasing a BASIC remake of the NES classic, Contra. The graphics are unreal for a BASIC game and It really does push the limits. The speed is amazing, and the gameplay rocks. So far there are 3 Different Kinds of enemies, 2 levels each with 9 frames, A boss for each level, Landmines, Weapon Upgrades, water, and realistic terrain. The game is going to show everyone the power of BASIC. To check up on this project goto the Contra Forum at http//www.unitedti.org/forums, Or visit the Outer Limit Software website at http://www.olsoft.tk.
Enjoy!

Dude Awesome,I've also made an one-on-one RPGbattlemode Program,in mine you have three options, attack, guard, and items, for attack you also have three options,Cut,Hack, and Slash,in which slash takes alot of damage.for guard you can guard any attack, and as for items you use something i called hp potion, which heals you-it gives you 5 hp.
Also i made a secret option in which you unleash special attacks, but it only appears for a certain amount of time.the special attack option has three special powers, such as Meteor,Iceberg, and thunder(i named it thurderstorm),each player has its own special power,as for the second player's specials,it has tornado, hurricane, and forgot the otherone......But sadly i took off the secret fourth option, since i had to do 14 ifandthen commands, and it takes like more than 100 lines....So...But the battle mode is awesome.

I am creating the first ever pseudo 3d Star Trek game for the 83 and 83+.Current features are:

Animated Title screen (Fires phasers and torpedoes)
Complete begining menu.
16 movements for the Enterprise
Ability to change alert status, but so far only affects the shields.
Ability to dispatch repair teams to damaged areas.
Ability to set the self destruct
Can see all inventory and status reports

Current bugs:
The ship wants to move in 3 places by itself. This will be fixed in the next version.
The ships are not all centered. Again, This will be fixed in the next version (8 are already complete)
When exiting the in-game menu to the fight, it recalls a pic and then creates the ship. This was fixed after i added the zip to ticalc.org

If you want more info, please take a look at the link above. There are many screen shots, and a web board to discuss what you think.

Well, I have fixed nearly everything, and am almost ready for the next release. Does anyone have any suggestions for the game so far?? Please?

For the upcoming release, the battle screen is complete, with a working weapos charge up. The only thing is, they don't fire, yet. All 16 positions are finished, and are completely centered. The self-destruct was re-written to save space, using the battle screen for the ship actually blowing up.

The next release after, will allow you to shoot the borg, with it showing damage to the shields, and what not.

In it's current state, the programs and pics take around 14000 bytes. This game is also Doors CS 5.0 certified.

This is the first time im making a game for TI-83, i have been making many math programs. Im making an easy RPG game, no real graphics, pretty much Menus. I started yesterday in Math class, I have these things on it right now: Store, Hotel, Bank, and Your Info. I still havent made the fighting portion of the game. I think im gonna make 3 Dungeons, each harder than the one before. There will be weapons and armor to buy, Experience, Money, and Health. The only problem I am facing right now is that i ran out of Variables. i have used 0-9, the alpha symbol, and A-Z. Can someone help me out there? This is actually a huge leap for me. especially since the non-fighting part took me one day to do.

I ran into this same problem when I was doing some programming. I figured out that you can use custom named lists to get the job done. It is slightly more complicated than a plain variable, but it works!
Just enter the following into your calculator:
{the number you want to store}->ABCD
Simply enter the number you want to store into a four letter name! Then, you can go into the LIST menu and go down and find your custom list. I believe there is a chapter in the instruction manual about this.
