What is the advantage of rating files?

As you use programs and play games found in the public archives we highly encourage you to revisit the page from which you downloaded these programs and rate them on their overall quality. The advantage to this is a more solid foundation of knowledge of which programs are of high quality and which are not. Every directory can be sorted by file ratings (from highest to lowest) thus making it very easy for you to view which programs others have enjoyed or found useful and vice versa. So the more programs you rate the more it becomes evident of the quality a particular program has and thus reduce meaningless downloads by future potential downloaders. One day the programs that are rated really bad will most likely be removed from the archives.
