Question
What does the merging of two files do?
Answer
When merging two files together you are basically adding the downloaded count of the two together and removing one of the files at the process. This is usually only done for files of the same type that have multiple versions available in the archives. We prefer not to have multiple copies of the same program, no matter the version number, and will often merge these together if we see them. This excludes shells. Often older versions of shells are kept because other programs will need the older versions. You can request two of your files be merged together by sending an email to filearchive@ticalc.org with a link to each of the two files that need merging together. Please make sure to indicate which file you want to keep, because the other will be removed completely.
