Good luck to all the contestants!

I should add that all users with any opinion at all should vote - since there are so many options, we need as many votes as possible to normalize the results.

Hey Travis, how hard would it be to reprogram the survey page to show just the number of votes that have already been cast (e.g. not show the survey results, but show "42 votes and counting!")? Do you think you could do that within the next week or two if it's possible?

The main problem is, by the time I do that and test the changes, and wait for Magnus to review, approve, and apply them (assuming he doesn't forget), it will likely already be time to post the POTY results anyway. :-) It'll only be a couple of weeks.

This survey got 48 votes, though, if anyone's curious.

I really would've liked to vote for BomberKids as it's one of my favorite games of all time, but i just couldn't bring myself to vote for a game from 2000 for the 2012 POTY, especially when there are folks in the contest who are still around and active :)

I had to vote for Bomberkids, because it stands way above the competition in terms of multiplayer calculator games. Nothing else even comes close. There need to be more multiplayer games that are actually worth playing (for more than 2 minutes).

There's so many amazing games to choose from!

I downloaded Zombie Gun over the summer, and it went viral very quickly at my school, almost as fast as Mario did. Nearly everyone with a TI-84 plays it or has played it before, and everyone is obsessed with it. It's just a great game, despite the fact that it occasionally glitches and crashes.

Fruit Ninja is also a good game, especially with the innovative use of the keypad. The animations are phenomenal. I actually tried to create a program using a similar keypad/touchscreen concept a few years ago, but I never developed it much because it was really difficult for even simple swipe gestures in Basic. Kudos to Deep Thought for making a good game out of it.

Jetpack8x is also a great game. The physics are good, but the huge game save appvar doesn't help it.

Good luck to all entries. It's heartening to see programmers still putting effort into making better and better games after so many years.

Voted for An Exercise in Futility

I was originally going to vote for Zombie Gun, but decided against it, since it's intersting how any shooter game with good particle physics is considered a good game. Not saying that Zombie Gun isn't a great game, but I felt that An Exercise in Futility was more interesting, and felt like a unique and well-made game.

I ended up voting for Bomberkids as well, since it's pretty much my favorite calc game of all time. I am, however, porting Futility to Windows for Cemetech Contest #9 (see URL).

I voted Fruit Ninja, mainly because of its innovativeness. And the graphics and physics are great.

Indeed it was hard. I think everyone should be very happy, even if they don't get poty. They're all nice programs. :)
