My thoughts exactly. Seems like almost everyone else agrees, judging from the survey results.

I think that you could probably get people to buy them, if you announced that it was for a charity, but then it would be no more than a donation; no one would care that much about the program that they're getting.

I agree. A calc program isn't all that big a deal. How long does a person usually keep a single calc program on their calc anyway?

I have variables on my TI-86 from 6 or 7 years ago (not counting that they have been restored after crashes numerous times, of course). On my TI-92+ I have a few things I wrote, a C compiler from somewhere on here, & KerNO archived, with no intent of ever removing them (except maybe the C compiler if I ever need the space), & also I always put Tetris (not archived so the high score works) back on there when it crashes. (Random junk also hitches a ride in the save files...I should probably delete some of these long-forgotten year-old variables with 2- to 4-character random names. :))

It is from ticalc.org's archives...I definitely did not write it. The most I ever did on the calculator was writing a TI-92+<=>TI-86 link program (it was supposed to do more but is still unfinished) & a Hebrew display program for the TI-86 (which I did not upload).

Hm. Buying and selling calc games for charity? Oooh I can imagine it now: Giant, blow-up TI-83+'s, Texas Instruments signs everywhere, free pocket protectors upon entrance, slide rulers and Graphlink cables for prizes... "Texas Instruments Goes Philanthropic," the papers would say. ROFL! I'm a sort of nerd, so I'd probably love that, but seriously, a *calculator charity*? Ermmmmm, nah. Not happening.
Oh and btw, I said I would both write and buy.

How long has this survey been going on? Are there no other ideas?

And on topic, yes, I would write calculator programs for charity. But, I don't think anyone would buy them, as my programs are all quite lame. I know I wouldn't buy any of my programs. I don't think I would buy anyone else's programs, other than masterpieces like Mario and Phoenix/Phantom Star [select one].

You beat me to it. I was going to post the same exact thing. Yes, I completly agree... We have not had a new survey in over 2 months, which is pretty lame.

Here is a survey idea:

Who is your favorite mathematician?

Mine would be Johann Carl Friedrich Gauss!

Fermat for me. I love his "book margin proof".

Hmmm... Or Fermat's last theorem...

Still, GAUSS PWNS ALL, especially Riemann, who did nothing except twidle his thumbs and then publish how he twidled them.

Still, Fermat is a good choice.

Mine would have to be Georg Friedrich Bernhard Riemann, who is infinitely better than Gauss!

I insult whoever i want!

How dare you insult master Riemann!
Gauss just ripped off stocks and properties until he was rich and spoiled, while Riemann was working on high-level mathematics and being smarter!

I humbly disagree! Gauss had a bricklayer for a father and a maid for a mother! When Gauss was 3, he even corrected his father making a calculation! I bet Riemann did nothing of the sort.

Gauss even taught Riemann, and the professor ALWAYS knows more than his students!

Who else agrees that Gauss is the greatest mathematician of all times, except for God?

Riemann was way humbler than Gauss, for many reasons. One being that Riemann's father was a minister, who barely got paid, and his mother didn't even have a job! they also had like 6 kids to support, so money was thin! Thus Riemann had much less than Gauss.

A minister doesn't get paid anyway! Showing that Riemann, father demanded money for such a meager job, it shows that they were greedy!

Well that proves that they had almost NO money! so they had to be humble, share, and all that!

Gauss was rich compared to Riemann!
