Assuming the poll author meant graphics as drawings, not as stat plots or Y= stuff I voted Combination of ASM+BASIC.

I used to program in pure BASIC before (that was several years ago) but then I found asm libs to un/archive asm programs in basic (it was Zflash I think) and I made lot of RPGs using it. As you might guess it wasn't efficient at all (I had to change my batteries every two weeks because of all garbage collect messages >.<). Then came flash gordon... and now xLIB. ASM libs for BASIC has improved a lot since the past years. Now you can make graphical BASIC games with scrolling and it isn't that slow and very playable. Only downside is the amount of sub programs required to play the games as they grow huge very fast with all those maps and sprites.

Next better steps would be assembly but before I got a computer at home I got used so much to basic that I have an hard time learning asm and seeing what some asm programmers did to basic programmers in the TI community I dont feel like contributing to the z80 asm scene anymore

Anyway now to tell you I tried making a Racing game with two stat plot lists/graphics... eew...

You might be a candidate for BASIC ASM, then (see link).

that sound nice, is the commands really different from basic? I might try it out once finished. It might be useful for making games that cannot be fast enough to be fun in TI-BASIC

Come on, just because there are some assembly programmers who are morons doesn't mean that there's anything wrong with learning/writing/using assembly. If you try hard enough, you can find people you don't like doing just about anything. ;-)

I've learned kind of what all the ASM commands do and stuff, but the bringing of them together to make a good program is something beyond me.. thus I stick to using BASIC with ASM libraries.. I'm currently working on a Deadlock type game.. if you dont know what Deadlock is [since I can't find a link anywhere that tells about it..] it's a game that you select a planet and you have to take it over by defeating your enemy and researching new technology.. you have to build up your "cities" to be able to defeat the enemy and you have to take over the whole planet.. my game will be sort of similar.. as of now I plan to allow you to be able to construct buildings and farms and all that good stuff to earn resources and you have to take over the whole planet.. yea.. there isn't gonna be any technology crap, though, cuz I just don't see that as a major part of the game.. It uses xLib as the main backbone.. for the tilemaps, mouse, shapes, pretty much everything haha.. I think it's gonna be a pretty good game.. be looking for it here in the next few weeks!

sound nice, maybe you should post about it on some TI forums since half of the programmers check them every day ^^

And xlib rules

Hmm...Deadlock sounds sort of like Civilization II, which I once played years and years ago. I'll definitely try it when you release it.
