Apologies for the delay...my laptop died while I was away on vacation, so I couldn't add a new survey until I got home :( For those of you who read the newsletter, I'm hoping to get it out by the 31st, but the laptop failure has impacted on everything I need to get done. And where are the options for "I have already bought a new calculator for this academic year" and "I have already bought my first calculator"? A lot of people have already started school, you know. And isn't this discrimination against the older people at ticalc.org :-)?

& what about only if they make a TI-86+/some other new model?

No math classes this year, only physics, and my trusty 89 should hold up. I'm not planning to purchase any calculators in the near future, camera equipment is much more important.

I hate it when you can't fit any math classes into your schedule. Instead you get stuck with some shitty cultural class you need for some requirement GER ...

I'm going to replace my TI-83 Plus by a TI-84 Plus Silver Edition :)

Yeah, me too. There are so many BASIC games that require the speed of the 84+, and the extra memory wouldn't hurt either!

The 83+ is perfectly fine for math and games. Mine has plenty of math flash apps (Cabamap <3 ) and I still have room for games. Okay, so it's a little slower and it has less flash rom, but if you want that, then why not spend like $30 more to make a bigger upgrade and go for the 89T?

the titanium is definantly the best choice. it now even does implicit differentiation!!

Omnicalc does that too... I think...

Symbolic does explicit differentiation, Omicalc does no diferentiation. And for implicit differentiation on the TI-89 Ti, you need the CalcTools App.

Symbolic only does differentiation in one variable; no implicit differentiation.

Yes, Get ti-89 titanium instead of going for the 84+SE.

I got one yesterday, it has everything you might (and might not) think of needing for math. It's screen and programming is much better, and there's enough room for the bigger (and most surely better) games.
