Which would you rather have in a calculator?

I really think TI calculators should have much more memory. Especially the TI-83, it only has 28K. You can fit so little on your calculator. If there was more memory, you wouldn't have to worry so much about running out in the middle of a game.

personally, I think that more system functions should be available in BASIC and not just in ASM. Make the TI-BASIC more advanced TI!!!!

I would rather have the Ti-89 should have a faster processor, a screen with more pixels, a color screen, and a little antenna to receive TV signals so you can watch TV on your calc.

Watching TV on your calc. Now *there's* a good idea. Never have a boring school day again. It might be possible, but the resolution would have to improve quite a bit for it to be practical.

I'm torn between bigger memory and a faster CPU...i would get a combo of those cause one without the other is just a partial upgrade :) they should do a duo for it :) faster and bigger i think is better then bigger or faster :)

I find it weird that (practicly) all you guys want for your calculator is upgrades that would make games run better. I mean they are calculators, not game boys.

So? What's your point? A calc is designed for games, isn't it?

Wouldn't a power adapter be usefull... Just think, no more wasted batteries at home.

I completely agree on the power adapter thingie. I myself have been thinking of that for months. I wish you could just plug the dumb calc into an outlet and not waste your precious AAA batteries!!!

Maybe we should tell TI about that if they havent already thought of it! How does that sound?

think way back when the ti-59 came out, it came with its own power adapter!!(it also ran on rechargable batteries) so ti already knows about "power adapters"

Color all the way with a high resolution and a powerful CPU, but me must remember these devices were created for hard and detailed math not games.

about the processor... on my hw2 ams2.03 ti-89, i ran the ti-bench program, and it said my processor was running at 18mhz.. i don't know if it is because it is running that fast, or it is an error in the program.. well anyway, if it's actually running that fast, i don't think that it has to be improved.. i can rememer back in the day when the fastest computers were only 27mhz~!

um, ok. i found out what was happening... after i made the last post, i found out that my little battery indicator was on :o( i have replaced the batteries, and now i am back to 12mhz.. but hey, for a calculator, 12mhz is pretty darn fast~!

i voted for larger memory.. on the ti-89 with ams2.03, you have all the memory you should ever be able to use.. hey, it would be cool if ti made like a floppy disk drive.. everyone at your school would ph33r3 you when you walked into math class and hooked up a 3½ disk drive to the link port.. can even imagine the games the game you could have?!?

I know... I thought of it a few years ago, and TI said they'd submit it to their TI-92 research team... but that was years ago...

It can already be done, just nobody is silly enough to do so.. that would make the power usage go to watts instead of milliwatts and also too big to be a calculator anymore
