Survey idea by Morgan, choices by me.

And congratulations to all those lucky people who contractually bought Magnus's 85. I hope you all are able to work out appropriate visiting rights for the calculator.

About a hundred, I suspect. International dependent-visiting rights. Gurgh. Not fun. I'm going to call Interpol; it's going to happen eventually.

Same, I don't want to submit something unless I think it is a quality program, or something new that hasn't been already made. And I haven't been programming enough lately to get up to that point.

that's exactly what i'm doing. i've made many programs since i got my calculator 3 years ago, but since none of these programs are greatly superior compared to other math programs/games already on the site, i haven't uploaded anything onto the site.

Exactly my idea. I've made quite a few programs, but most of them only build on whatever currently exists (like working on the advanced Laplace functions, etc.)

Also, is it just me, or is ticalc.org really slow right now?

Yeah! Usually pages that load almost immediately take 10 seconds! Is it the web server? Please fix it soon!

It's sped up a little, but is still going a lot slower than usual.
BTW, I'm using DSL (no flames, please!)

It's definately slow! It's slower than dial-up before we switched to DSL.

It was faster when you were the file archiver. :-(

I check it once in awile. at least monthly just to see whats getting downloaded.

Generally Speaking, stats for some of the archive files are flawed. If a file is submitted that has more than one calc version on it, For example, a Zip file which has versions of the game For the 83, 85, and 89, The one file is added to all the directories (the 83, 85, and 89 File Directory) but is counted in only one of the directory stats (85 for example). In this case, people downloading the game for their 83 or 89 have no effect on their score in the 83 or 89 game catagories but bump up the 85 one, inflating the 85 score and skewing the count for other 85 games.

Eh, I used to check them about once a week, but now it's more about once a year. It doesn't matter to me as much now that I can see that 95% of my programs are crap. :-P But I'm sure if I made a cool new program (which is very unlikely at the current time), I'd check my stats more frequently once again.

When I was a n00b and obsessed with finding out how many people had downloaded my programs, I would check every day, but now I only check when I'm bored (another reason is that there are ~50 - too many to check all at once!).

Or you could use TIreport to check them. I still havent downloaded it yet so I don't really know how good it is. But it could be useful when you have a lot of uploaded programs.

All my programs are crap so i don't even bother checking them. I haven't uploaded anything lately because I am solely working on learning ASM and I have gotten stuck with my Windows like shell that I have started. If you would like to help me out, please email me!! I could use the help.

I've been messing around with HTTP protocols, and TiReport doesn't seem like it'd be too hard to replicate.
Should I make something similar to compete?
I can't find any good project ideas involving HTTP.

If you make it work on something other than Windows, it will definitely compete.

Easily...It's going to be written in Python, so it can run on ANY platform! Don't expect anything more about it for a while, though, 'cause I'm pretty busy. I think I'll make it a summer project.

Unfortunately I bought an 84+ SE because it is SAT compatible.(sounds like requirements for a game or something)

I will probably buy an 89 sometime soon and then give my sister my 84+ because the 89 is so much better.
