Why the Female Bar is So Low
X-Gear
(Web Page)

Personaly, I am a guy, but there are a few girl programers out there. The only problem is that society shows programmers as big ugly fat guys in dimmly lit rooms. Such is the case some times, but there are other corporate programers and free lance programers that include large numbers of teams and each team having a number of programers. The only problem is that "Programing" as a career choice is seen as a male
-geek job. (Not it is not, I don't believe that for a second. And I can think of the movie "The Net" being one of the only movies that shows a women programer, even if she uses a Mac.) Women should actualy be better suited socialy to become programers. Scientific studies show that women work better in structer "team efforts." While males usualy choose to work by themselves. Too bad not enough women are atracted to programing though, its a shame.

~X-Gear

BTW: The programing industry in the Bay Area of California (San Fransico, San Jose, LA, Orange County, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, etc... IE Silicon Valley; my home) will increase by 98% in the next 5 years, and female participations is expected to increase by 23%.

It seems like every time a computer is used in a movie or television program, it is one of those crappy apple macintosh computers.

Mac rules, Windows suck. Linux and Mac OS are better then windows, Linux is more stable then Mac OS. Mac OS has a better GUI. Basically, All I have to say is Windows Sucks. The only PCs that are good are homebuilt Linux Running Machines. I really shouldn't say PC, to get technical, PC means Personal Computer, the mac is a PC then, I should say IBM compatable, its more procise. Not to start another OS War but Saying that the Mac sucks simply because you don't understand the true system is totally uncalled for.

P.S. They use apples because the screen films better, better refresh rate.

I aggree Mac's are the devil under cover. They are the worst excuse for a computer ever created. They have more problems than Micro$oft, and they have problems. LiteStep or Linux on an IBM-compatable is the best way to go.

Yea! We need a have you ever owned a Casio, and what did you think of it survey. I think the choices should be, it sucked, it sucked bad, it sucked ass, or it sucked more than you are willing to believe. That would make a great survey. Just my ideas.

yes, but not even the 92+ has a color display. Sharp has a good idea, as well: touch screens. Imagine a 92+ with a color touch display.

Let's drool some more while we fantasize about that. Wait, what would happen if you ever accidently dropped your calculator? And how much batteries would that sort of calculator use? Just some things to think about while drooling.

Batteries? Why would it use batteries?

Just have a hydrogen fuel cell, which uses hydrogen to make electrivity, and lasts many times longer than a battery. The only problem is a reliable source of hydrogen.

A laptop was powered off of a fuel cell for 10 hours straight, and the fuel cell was about the size of the battery it replaced.

Still, droping that calculator would be a big problem. Also, a good name for it would be the "RTFM-1", as it would be incredibly complex.

No. it should be called the RTFM-1. "RTFM" stands for "Read The F****** Manual" which would be an apt name.

Would a 400 mhz processor be too much?

Here's an idea.
Why doesn't TI take the power behind the Matrix's main control computer and put it in portablt form. Its instruction manual would only be one page long! Here's what it would look like.

<TI-PalmMatrix Manual>
Think of the command you want to perform. It'll do it for you immediately.

This calculator uses an advanced form of Flash(TM) Technology. Think of an addition to the TI-PalmMatrix, and the calculator will install it for you.
</TI-PalmMatrix Manual>

Just wishful thinking. L8r.

Hey! I happen to own a Casio fx-9700GE and I like it! It was my first graphing calculator that I bought way back in 1994. Sure it's not jam-packed with functionality and the like, but at least it graphs better and faster than the TI-82s we use at school... and it can solve for either the x-coordinate OR the y-coordinate; something I haven't been able to do on my 92+. In conclusion, just don't bash my beloved Casio cause... you never know, they might make a comeback. LOL.

Point one the 89,92,and 92+ can all do what u say they can't.
Point two this is <b>TICALC.ORG</b> not casiocalc so please don't slander TI calculators on this site.
Point three the color on the casio is not worth the price(I hould know I once owned one and it sucked)

Point one: Tell me how to solve for the x-coordinate with a given y and I will thank you.
Point two: I never did "slander" TI Calculators, I happen to own one and I love it; reread my post.
Point three: The fx-9700GE is not *color*. But the calculator was definitely worth the price when I bought it.

There are two ways to solve for the y-coordinate.

Method #1: Graphicly
Enter your equation into y1 and enter the y-coordinate to solve for in y2. Then graph it and use the intersect function from the math menu.

Method #2: Numericly
Enter the following function on the home screen:

solve(y='your equation here',y)|y=(y-coordinate)

Note that the '|' before y= is the 2nd function of the 'k' key.

Hope this helps,
-Sean
