Does buying the 83+ SE count as buying TI's flash APPS?

I put down no, I use free ones because I count the ones on my SE as "included for free".

I would say they are free because you paid for the fancy calc with more mem and a faster processor. you can download them for free at education.ti.com if you enter your serial number (engraved in the back plastic case) and registir your calculator.

(although, I'm sure TI isn't loosing $$ even if they charge nothing for the flash apps on it)

me too, I say buy an 83+ and an 89, because 86s can be a pain in terms of binomial distribution (prove me wrong)

I guess they are a little [too] popular. Sorry to hear that, if you buy a new one, I recommend getting a SilverEdition or just waiting for the TI-84 to come out. If they are not too too expensive, I might get one but I doubt that I would be able to.

I know this is about as far off topic as one can get but is there anyone who actually reads every comment on the page?

I know I don't - I can't spend that much time. I just do a search Ctrl+F and type my name and look at only the replies to my replies.

Just wondered. Hey! The next poll!

:)

Hahaha, I was just reading through all the comments. :)

Anyways, I wouldn't *pay* for any apps for my calc, since most of the good ones have free alternatives anyways. It /would/ be nice to have an address book on my calc though, but I can use my PDA for that anyhow.

I scan down the page quickly and only stop at the comments that look interesting.

Later when I revisit, I search for replies to my posts like you do, except since I have Mozilla I can just type my name and press Ctrl+G to find each occurence without messing with dialog boxes at all.

I use TI-86 (BEST CALCULATOR WOOT!!) so I can't use flash apps. The only time I do is when I install them onto my friends calculators since I have a TI graph link.

Oh my. Correcting someone's leet-speak... That's disgusting...

You know, anyone could argue that their calculator (maybe with the exception of older ones) are the best calculator. It's kind of pointless arguing it...

Nah, not disgusting... w00t! is just typically spelled w-0-0-t-!.

And I still don't understand why people always have TI-83+ vs. TI-86 wars.

This is an 86 vs. 89 war...

You can guess who will win.

By the way, what's the best way of doing regressions on a TI89?

I hate TI-89 regressions... :-\

I half-remember... see if this works:

Type in LinReg L1, L2 (or whatever regression you're doing)

and then use regeq (that variable shoudl store the equation)

I dunno, tha'ts what I do :(

Well, what is funny is the fact that immediately after he says that 86's are the best, he points out one minor/major (depends on the individual) flaw- the inability to use Flash Apps. Not quite the way I would try to start this kind of arguement...

Also, I notice as I glance through the guidelines for posting messages that these guidelines will soon need to be changed. One guideline is that one should not use language one would not hear on US television. As the standards for television get more and more (distastefully) leniant, there is a vertiable "loophole" in the rules...
