Don't you just love The Weather Channel's version of 'partly cloudy': 'mix of clouds and sun'

Man, it's POURING down right now even as I type!

Also, I didn't get my info. from the weather channel. I don't even have cable of satelite. I have a free service on my computer called Weatherbug. It's great. You give it your address, and it gives you localized forcastes from a weather station. My weather station is my school, which is only 15-20 minutes away from my house, so when I say LOCAL forcast, I mean LOCAL forcast!

I know, their storm chances are also fairly inaccurate. I live in Central IL and one night they predicted a 40% chance of rain. We got 3 inches of rain that night and it rained for around 5 hours (further southeast, 7-8 inches of rain was reported). There were flash flood warnings all over the place. We've had a nasty summer. An F3 tornado came in May and destroyed South Pekin to our southwest. Just a couple of nights ago, ~70 mph winds took down branches. Now a branch lays upright on a tree where it didn't before.

After reading a few posts about rainy and cloudy summers (which shouldnt be) I've come to the conclusion that Mother Nature must have a grudge against us or something like that.

It is 110 degrees F and sunny with less than 10 percent humidity in Tuscon, Arizona, but by 7:00pm a daily monsoon reaches us and the temperature drops by 40 degrees. Hmmm...it's always sunny during the day, but it storms like heck for the first few hours of the evening. This will happen every single day between now and the end of August. How should I cast my vote?

Tornado last weekend in Cedar Rapids area. You might have heard about it, the story was on NPR (National Public Radio, not nPr).

I know that for a fact because I live just north of Vinton. A tornado just barely missed our house here by about a mile.
