Pi is yummy to eat. Otherwise, this is kinda more of a test of knowledge, not a survey. Surveys are meant to gain public opinion, unless people think pi is completely useless, then they could vote for 0.

That is stupid, iditotic, and an insult to mathematics, as well as the greatest minds of all time, from Archimedes to Euler to Newton to the Chundovsky brothers.
I take extreme offense at the blatant disrespect you show in this comment, which is ignorant and juvenille. You are certainly not worthy of owning a TI calculator, or any other.
Pi is sacred, a constant which is build into geometry itself, as well as statistics and Euler's formula (if you are not familiar with Euler's formula, you should learn not to advance opinions on things which you obviously do not understand.)
Pi is an essential part of Trigonometry, governing the relationship between angle measure and arc measure.
The greatest minds in the history of mathematics have devoted a monumental effort towards the calculation and elucidation of the pi, proving first its irrationality, and then the fact that pi is not even an algebraic number.
Disrespecting a formula which is one of the most cherished in all of geometry, from elementary school on up, should certainly be a capital crime.
With National Pi Day just this coming friday (3/14), I think that you should spend the day apologizing for your incompetence and learning to respect this mythical and revered number.
To begin your journey, I have provided a link to the website of the book The Joy of Pi, by David Blatner, which includes links to other informative sites.
I hope you learn the error in your ways, and repent before the sacred holiday this friday.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Pi

(sigh) you only further reveal your ignorance.
While being familiar with Euler's Method is... uh... good(read:useless), I was referring to Euler's FORMULA, linking the five most beautiful concepts in mathematics:
e^(i*pi)+1=0

In response to the more important point you advance:
>>"could you tell me WHERE in there did I make fun of Pi...I made fun of the formula ONLY"
You disrespect pi, first, by linking it to a terrible food, and creating a pun (the horror!) linking it to a physical characteristic of pie.
While this is a terrible crime in itself, you go further to disrespect the work of Euclid, Archimedes, and all of the brilliant mathematicians before and since (of which, obviously, you are not one). You insult all of geometry, algebra, trigonometry, and mathematics in general...
AND YOU DO IT MERELY DAYS BEFORE THE DAY OF CELEBRATION OF THE WORLD'S GREATEST CONCEPT!

I would NEVER insult the great no_one_2000.
The fact that i am an eighth-grader in AP Calculus BC tends to make me overconfident of myself.
I am sure that you are familiar with the Gregory-Leibniz series, which states that Pi/4=1-1/3+1/5-1/7+1/9-1/11+1 /13-1/15+..., as well as the refinement of said theory, stating that Pi/4=4arctan(1/5)-arctan(1/239)= 4SIGMA((.2^(2n+1))/(2n+1),n,0,Infinity) -SIGMA(((1/239)^(2n+1))/(2n+1), n,0,Infinity).
I am sure you are familiar with names such as Cauchy and Riemann.
I am sure you have memorized many more digits than the 65 i have.
Of course, there is no way to know that i am not simply copying this out of a math book, so i guess you'll have to take my word for it.
I am also sure that you won't believe that i am an eigth-grader in Calc, but there is no way to prove that, either.
Oh well.
None of this matters, in light of the sacred holiday almost upon us.
I am sure that we can all conclude that Pi is the only thing that matters anymore.
I apologize for drawing out a conflict from no_one_2000, who is one of the revered TI forum inner circle.

I believe your an eighth grader in AP calc (that's scary, but I still believe you)... I'm in 9th and I'm in Honors Alg, but hey :) I've seen the first formula plenty of times before and I've seen the others, but never really thought about them. I memorized about 120 (I need a life) and I'm trying to get as high as I can before tomorrow. Hey... in your biography, it says you're in 7th grade and in AP calc. Are you in a class with a lot of older kids?

no_one, have you ever seen or heard of a particular book called "The Joy of Pi"? It covers the history of pi, fomrulae for calculating pi, the origin of the use of pi, and the first 10,000 digits.

3 . 1 4 1 5 9 2 6 5 3 5 8 9 7 9 3 2 3 8 4 6 2 6 4 3 3 8 3 2 7 9 5 0 2 8 8 4 1 9 7 1 6 9 3 9 9 3 7 5 1 0 5 8 2 0 9 7 4 9 4 4 5 9 2 3 0 7 8 1 6 4 0 6 2 8 6 2 0 8 9 9 8 6 2 8 0 3 4 8 2 5 3 4 2 1 1 7 0 6 7 9 8 2 1 4 8 0 8 6 5 1 3 2 8 2 3 0 6 6 4 7 0 9 3 8 4 4 6 0 9 5 5 0 5 8 2 2 3 1 7 2 5 3 5 9 4 0 8 1 2 8 4 8 1 1 1 7 4 5 0 2 8 4 1 0 2 7 0 7 9 3 8 5 2 1 1 0 5 5 5 9 6 4 4 6 2 2 9 4 8 9 5 4 9 3 0 3 8 1 9 6 4 4 2 8 8 1 0 9 7 5 6 6 5 9 3 3 4 4 6 1 2 8 4 7 5 6 4 8 2 3 3 7 8 6 7 8 3 1 6 5 2 7 1 2 0 1 9 0 9 1 4 5 6 4 8 5 6 6 9 2 3 4 6 0 3 4 8 6 1 0 4 5 4 3 2 6 6 4 8 2 1 3 3 9 3 6 0 7 2 6 0 2 4 9 1 4 1 2 7
