Re: Have you ever used Virtual TI?

I was wondering if anyone knows Rusty or knows why VTI hasn't been updated in a while. I recently bought a Voyager 200 for my Calculus class and I'd like to write some games for it but I'd rather debug in on something like VTI than crashing my calc all the time. So is VTI still a work in progress? Or are there emulators that work for new ROM versions of 83+ and/or Voyager 200?

Judging by the pace things have been going for the past year or so, I'd say we shouldn't expect an update. It would be great if he did. I would love to be able to access that 160K of Flash Rom that is sitting on my virtual 83+. Right now, however, you'd be better off bumming an 83 ROM off of somebody. At least you'd have more RAM.

"Beer! -The temporary solution"-Homer Simspon.
(this I got off a poster not an episode.

Many say the Simpsons is unPC. I don't get where this comment comes from.

They take the mikie out of everyone equally.

Many also say Monty P is unPC. They are, and I still love 'em.

Soth, do you only reply to polls? Do you ever reply to news items? You should, I normally agree with your point of view.

To imitate the function of (another system), as by modifications to hardware or software that allow the imitating system to accept the same data, execute the same programs, and achieve the same results as the imitated system. (dictionary.com)

To sum it up, it basically takes a replica of something to make a virtual object (in this case, no_one_2000_'s TI-82)

HAH!!! I BEAT YOU, YOU MBC!!!!!

I used the VTI a couple of times. Mainly to make images of and from the calculator(s) for use in an e-mail or two. As for the VTI not being currently updated, well there are other options. There is the MESS emulator. Currently the only calculator emulated using this is the TI-85. I have not personally bothered yet to try this emulator. But it can be used to emulate vertually any computer. (TI graphing calculators are Z80 and 6800 computers. With calculator OS) The link here is to the MESS site. Check it out.

Sounds like a nice app. Be nice if there was a carbon version (Mac OS X)

Of course it would be nice if there was a carbon version, anything written for the mac is good, we need more software! Carbon version would probably also run in classic, which would be good for me, being as I still dont have X, cause my mom thinks that this POS purple iMac is good enough, but we may get a new iMac soon! Wahoo!
