I dunno why, but my troll sense is tingling. To be blunt, this post is
off-topic, self-advertising, and rather underhanded. Considering the
traffic this place gets, it isn't too much of an issue, but still. It
feels like I am being sucked into a competition with another device,
which really shouldn't have to be dealt with in a community such as
this. Especially considering my work is really just trying to
enhance/finish/repair the fairly good, but rushed, work of another
member of the community.

I really think I should re-mention the need to have a STANDARD protocol
for talking to these sorts of devices. It avoids the mess of only having
compatibility with certain types of calcs (the 85/86 seems to be rather
abused in this area, which is why the PIXpander was a great idea, using
the already-developed link protocol rather than something home-brewed
specifically for the device). I can send a draft of the proposed
protocol specification to anyone interested. Just e-mail me at
krevinek@mac.com requesting it.

Well, I can publish plans, and some beginning source, but nothing more
solid than that. Sucks, but I need a job to pay for the PIC replacement
as my budget has gotten WAY too tight.
