I also started to do a linking app in Linux a few weeks ago. I can send
you some code for you to test, because it doesn't work for me and I think
it's because of the cable as I've followed every indications I've been
given in this list and I've read on some pages so it should work.
They are also my first "complex" cables, and although a polymeter says
it seems to be right, I'm not too sure.

I've tested it with the parallel link and the serial link, but it doesn't
receive anything from the calculator (at least it should change a bit
afaik)

Yes, don't forget to turn this into a library if you do it, so that
anyone can use it for other applications.

I think it would be nice to integrate it with some app like kdevelop,
so that the user has one more menu with a "send to calc" item, and you
don't have to write yet another editor.
