No.  When a program displays a picture on a mac, its stored as a resource.
All files are data on a mac, and some have a resource fork.

PCs can't read resource forks, so when a mac file goes on a PC its in .bin
format or with Apple's PC exchange it splits the resource fork and stores
it encoded in an invisible directory.
