Same Thing happened to me, I had to REALLY shorten the cable in order for it to
work (and even then i had to use MOSLO), although it worked fine eleswhere.  I
changed Motherboards, and it works fine now (even runs though my scanner!).  Try
shortening the cable, or adding a secondary Parallel Port.
