No.  All it needs is RAM, ROM, the chip, and minimal components.  I got
most of the help for designing the PCB from the creator, and the PCB was
made and put to gether by electronics students from the universtiy here.
They actually did it in one try and it was only like $70 for the PCB.

You controll the interpreter by the GC's builtin UART.
