Well, that 4.8k/sec was best case scenario. I've slowed it down a wee
bit
to around 3k/sec or thereabouts to ensure error free operation at all
battery levels. I'm thinking that if I disable interrupts on the TI-92
I can actually get rid of the firmware delay loop. Still 3k/sec allows
for 1fps on the TI-92 and even more on the calcs with smaller LCDs.

The TI-92 will not handle variables over 64k, as far as I know. There
is no practical limit to the number of 264 byte 'pages' the driver can
scan though. I believe in current form it will do up to 64k pages, and
it wouldn't be too hard to let it do 2^32.
