Re: TI-H: Complaining about memory...

What would have happened if everyone would have quit before they tried
something? I have heard about people laughing at memory expansion
altogether before the ESF. What if Mel had quit???.

The PURPOSE of this list is to discuss and try new ideas. So maybe it's
crazy. maybe it's stupid. maybe it can WORK??? Don't condemn it before
you try it, because there is almost always someone out there who knows
more about a subject or can do something better than you. I know that. I
look to others to do certain tasks and figure certain things out. People
come to me for other things and I help them!

NO ONE PERSON HAS ANY RIGHT TO CONDEMN AN IDEA HERE. If that were the
case this LIST WOULD NOT EXIST!!! People said I was crazy when I told
them I was going to try to accelerate my TI-85. I figured it out before
I had ever heard of Boris Lutz, by looking for a clock frequency with a
logic probe after forcing a crash (data and addresses could stop
sometimes leaving the clock active). I also knew that a resistor
capacitor network was used because there was not a crystal. I didn't try
it, cause I was to much of a looser then to "modify" my calc. I only
modified it AFTER I found his page the upgrade was confirmed. I figured
out how to use inductance to allow a switch on the 82 without any added
capacitors though, and I did it. My goal was to make a switchable
accelerator that only required a switch. My calc screen was such a
laugh! it had copies of the contents all over the screen, looping,
flickering, and rollong as the data changed. I kept on trying different
lenths of wires, and I finaly did it. Never ONCE seen a line in the
screen! My sister is using it for school now, and She would think she
broke it if she saw a line in the screen. She uses it just fine, and
doesn't know how to reset it!

I just want to say, that the next person who flames an idea(s) just
because it is difficult or not likely to work, or maybe they just think
it's stupid, shouldn't have the benifit of this list, since they havn't
figured out what it's for...

Just a quick reminder, THIS LIST IS HERE BECAUSE WE HAVE A HOBBY, a
hobby unlike any other. We do the impossible and laugh at those who
laughed at us. We create the games and the hardware to run those games.
We make our calcs cool, not because it is needed, or useful, but to make
them COOL!

DON'T TAKE THAT AWAY, PLEASE! I LOVE MY HOBBY, AS DO OTHERS. WE TRY
BECAUSE WE WANT TO, NOT BECAUSE IT IS REQUIRED. The TI-MODEM was once a
useless thing. What am I going to do with a modem on my calc. Well, it's
just a cool thing to be able to do!

Please don't condemn designs (actualy IDEAS) just because it is useless
or stupid or difficult.

P.S. If you have something to say, say it without the asteriscs. It's
no better or no worse with or without them. Do you worry about what you
say so much that you must cover it. If you can type half of it type the
rest, because it still means the same thing. I don't appreciate it.
Neither do the others who put up with it. We know what you're saying to
us, so don't try to pretty it up. If you have to use those words at all,
then use them in their entirety, and THEN you'll see how people react!!!
