TI-H: The copyright stuff

I have been reading all the recent copyright arguments, therefore, I'm aware
of the laws on this subject. I think there are other things that you should
pay attention to beside the laws though. Bryan spend months working on the
extender, it finally works, and is a nice product. He has released the plans
on the internet, and even allowed people to build them for people who aren't
skilled enough in electronics to do so themselves. This was a nice thing to
do. But we need to pay attention to all his work. Out of simple kindness
and respect to the creator of this product, you should at least leave it's
name the same. I mean, you won't make any less money that way, and I think
what you're doing by changing the name of the product when the actual product
is basically the same is quite a mean thing to do in this situation. From
your messages, it doesn't seem that you were trying to be mean, but that's
how in comes across to me. In my opinion, changing the name to the Exium EuP
or something is not good enough. You should stick with bryan's original
name, the EuP. I've heard that you want to change it because you made some
modifications. It seems that the modifications can't be very much if it uses
the same chip by bryan, and the same driver. Even so, this should not be a
situation where we need to refer to copyright law. Whether you can legally
do it or not, it's not right. We're not all a bunch of big companies
fighting for market share or something, it should not come to this. Just
show Bryan common courtesy, and stick with his name.
