I have been looking into interfacing to Floppy drives and it's a lot
trickier than it may seem. To be able to use them, the device would
probably need as much processing power and more RAM than the TI-85
calculator has. But, for an easier solution, I have also been
looking into interfacing to SIMM modules for PCs. These are no where
near as difficult to work with and a 4MB 30-pin module is much
smaller than a complete floppy drive. It's even smaller than a
floppy disk for that matter. These SIMMs cost about $40 and 4MB is
about all that's needed for a calculator. The only problem with
these, however is that they need a battery for memory refresh.
