Actually, flaming is rather much like those stress balls you see in
toy stores. You just squeeze and squeeze away... and suddenly, all
the stress is gone! Its very calming, too... gets rid of cancer,
headaches, and helps prevent lamerhea.

No. The problem is that it seems like everything has to be said twice,
repeated twice, and then flamed at twice. Can't you people please learn
to absorb things the first time? See, there is a thing called patience..
and I realize that I lack this thing... But having to explain basic
electronics every day over and over again to one mailing list is getting
on a lot of peoples' nerves.

A lot of the original members of this list have unsubscribed since the
posts on this list became more and more idiotic. I and a few others are
just trying to reverse that trend. If it takes idiotic flames to prevent
idiotic posts, then so be it.

You forget... I gave a huge list of reasons, TWICE, before I started
flaming.

Again, I politely reference Exhibit A -- That hugely annoying sig you
used. And if we want to talk about netiquette, we need to mention
that arrogantly telling people what to do only causes more flames,
more hatred, and more wasting of time.

If you aren't familiar with a list and the things previously discussed
on it, you shouldn't be on that list. There is a tiny little thing
called
progress... and spending hours and 500 messages to shoot down something
that was already proven implausible is a huge waste. The two things that
bother me most are dealing with people who cannot think, and dealing
with
people who need to have things banged into their thick skulls with a
mallet. I realize that like many computer nerds I lack the ability to
calmly deal with people. However, there is a point when the frustration
builds up and a flame results.

Very interesting indeed... was your message not posted to the list?

Or perhaps the people could read the archives BEFORE they post and
figure
it out themselves. For some reason, you seem to forget that we aren't
here to instruct everyone in basic electronics. I think ticalc.org
would do a lot of us a favor if they made this list moderated and
deleted
messages that simply bring up topics discussed before.

Isn't human hypocrisy amusing?

If you use hotmail, it seems you are already in a trash can. Consider
an E-Mail provider that doesn't A) attach a 2 line ad to every message
and B) send out four copies of that message.

For whatever reason, people on the net are biased. Sending mail
from a place like hotmail, AOL, juno, or any other electronic slum
like those automatically makes people assume you are an ignorant
lamer. TI-H only seems to encourage things like that.

In reality, we have nothing to quarel about. I just like a good cock
fight every now and again. I've been practically flooded off the net
by the amount of E-Mail I've received, and much of IT could be taken
to private E-Mail.

After all the SPinTerface info posted on this list, I don't
know how anyone can possibly have another question about the damned
thing!

Look, I haven't taken a formal electronics course in my entire life,
and I'm no smarter than the next guy. All I ask is that people
understand the very basics of what they are trying to do before they
come onto the list and generate a megabyte of messages pertaining to
their idea. As another poster said several weeks ago, THINK before
you post. That's all I ask.

Its foolishly arrogant to presume that one can control other posters,
and I'm not trying to do that. If you desire a flame war, I'll get
out the gasoline. But I think it would be much more preductive if,
instead of flaming, everyone on this list went out, learned their
basic electronics, and came back to the list with the insight that
people like Mel Tsai have.

I am sorry if I have offended anyone. It just gets so tedious correcting
all of psuedoscience bullshit on this list. I think it would be a lot
better if people made some decent attempt to think of things for
themselves.
I guess we all live in an America that is the result of a heavy emphasis
on sports, a shameful school system, a surplus of trashy TV shows, and,
most importantly, the idea that noone should or can think or act
for themselves.
