TIB: Re: Ok just a question

A few thoughts on e

e is = 2.718281828.....

The derivative of e^x is e^x*dx.

e is the limit of (1+1/n)^n as n approaches infinity.

The number e appears a lot in solutions to differential equations and
in exponential growth and decay functions (like interest rates and
bacterial growth and nuclear decay type equations)

I would have to say that e is a bit more common and more useful than
pi, but it is also a lot less well known. probably because you have
to get in higher mathematics to see e, while I was introduced to pi
in... 6th grade?
