Have you ever checked to see what the links to the dos boxes do?
"Description: MS-DOS Prompt
Cmd line: C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM"
In other words, when you click on a dos prompt icon, Windows runs
command.com. It sounds like Windows is standalone and just came
with DOS to me. Anyone want to argue?
