Ha!  I finally know the answer to a tech question!
.83G files are "grouped" files.  They may contain a variety of .83x files.
Ungroup it by going to File>File Utilities>Ungroup TI-83 File.
Then select the file, and it will ungroup the enclosed .83x files.  It's sorta
like winzip.
