it coudl be setup so that when a new calc joins, it asserts both lines or
somesuch, and the first calc can easily run a _very_ small, simple interrupt
routine to test for that and give an address when found.
if the asserting calc (new one) doesnt get an address in a few micros, he
can decide that he is the first calc, and thus give himself an address and
turn on the interrupt above.  if he does get an address, he can ignore the
lines when both are asserted.
or whatever.
