Reversing a graph function (TI-83)

I am very familiar with the way to graph functions (i.e. Y[1]=x...) and
solving for values of 'x'. Also, I know how to use the CALC menu to
find the X-intercept (i.e. when Y=0), but does anyone know if it is
possible to calculate what the value of X would be, relative to a select
value for Y[1]? Thank you.
