Re: TI83 Emulator for TI86

Well, I thought that the Pletcher's question deserved a response that got
to the root of the issue. If you thought me long winded, then forgive me.
At any rate, now that I go back and read the original question, by you, I
realise that you prove one of my points quite well. Don't take this the
wrong way, but you said that unless the TI-89 could emulate the Z-80
calculators, you wouldn't buy it. I must assue that this is because you
don't want to give up all your games when you switch. Consider some things:
1. Before long, the 89 will have quite a nice library of games written for it,
and you wouldn't need to bother with such an emulator anyway, 2. A true
technophile would want the 89 just for its superior computational power,
games are just icing on the cake, 3. It's not a matter of power, the 68000
is a completely different chip and language from the Z-80. Given enough
free memory for the program, you could of course write the emulator, but
I doubt that there is that much room. Anyone know how large the program is
that will run Windows on a Macintosh? Neither do I, but I'll bet it's
quite large. 4. You could always keep your 86 and get the 89 in addition to
it, you know.
Okay, I think I've beat the dead horse enough for today. No doubt you'll
be mad about this, either because I blasted your argument, or because I
wrote another essay to do it. In either case, forgive me, I did not intend
to cause you any undo distress.
