for TI's own link, at least, it works with a serial port, not a parallel. but then again my friend's computer crashes when we tried to use it there wheras on my comp it works fine. I have no idea why. Btw, make sure you aren't connected to your modem while trying to using the link, assuming that you plugged it in to the correct port and you have a modem and a mouse.
