Exactly! Sort of.  What I meant was that the more rapid evolution of
computers, while allows for more Refined applications & Powerful games,
the real benefactor is more the games than applications.
        If you had a 386-25SX running Windows 3.x, Word 2.0, Quicken,
network & email stuff, but not all at the same time, your output would
not be much, if at all, lower in quality.  Mainly because a limit exists
for applications, that there can be only so much usefulness.  ie. Word 6
was the last major "must have."  The other versions aren't worth blowing
hundreds of dollars for, unless you have extra cash lying around.
        On the other hand, however, the quality of games on a 386 was
much less than on a PII 300.  ie. World Circuit vs. Grand Prix II (W.C.
2).
