all you have to do is change the crystal.  That was how 286 and earlier
computers were overclocked.

The problem with changing the processor is if the pin out.  If they are the
same changing the processor should work.  If not, it won't work.  Also if
the chip uses the same instructions.  Because unless you know how to change
the ROM the ROM's programming is based off the chip it uses.

The other problem is that it won't increase the MHz speed of the calc.  For
that to happen you need to change the crystal.
