HELP--Parallel Link to TI-86 problem

HELP!!!
I have been trying to send programs to my TI-86 from my PC through
my home-made parallel cable. I have tested all connections and changed
ports and everything. Nothing has worked. I cannot get a screenshot,
send or receive programs, or anything else. I know something is
happening because every time I try to do something, the 86's cursor will

stop flashing. The calculator is brand new (bought yesterday-12/27). I

have built cables before and they have worked with a TI-92 on my
computer, and with everything from a TI-82 to a TI-92 on computers at
school. My computer has an Intel Pentium 75 CPU, Windows95 (I have
tried Win95, DOS 7.0, and DOS 6.0 with no luck), 25-pin STANDARD printer

port (LPT1, SPP), and two 9-pin serial ports (no 25-pin). At school,
the TI-85s only work on the Cyrix 686/P166+ machines. TI-82s, 83s, and
92s all work on anything in there (Intel P75, Intel P120, and Cyrix
686/P166+). A friend of mine had his TI-86 working off the P120s (we
never tried the P75s) and the Cyrix's--now I think he fried his
calculator or something. I have tried my TI-86 on my P75 tower and P120

notebook with no luck (yes, I tried a slow-down program). Any help
anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated. Please reply to me
personally--I just subscribed to the list (right this moment!). Thanks!
